The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living along elevated areas in Nausori to Suva will experience low water pressures to no water supply from 9am Wednesday (11/07) to midday Friday (13/07).
Affected Areas include:
High Elevated Areas feeding from the following reservoirs:
- Wainibuku
- Nasinu
- Toorak
- Flagstaff
- Tovata
- Tacirua
- Nagatugatu
- Dokanaisuva
- Colo-i-Suva
- Raralevu
The disruption in supply is a result of a major leakage at the riser pipe of the water pump in the raw pumping station at Waila. Repair works are forecasted to take approximately 12 hours and will commence by 9am Wednesday (11/07).
The pump will be back in operation soon after the repair. However, the supply will be affected due to low water levels in our clear water reservoirs as a result of reduction of water production during this repair work. Therefore, the supply is expected to be gradually restored from Wednesday night (11/07) up to midday Friday (13/07).
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to store sufficient water and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carts will be on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
The Authority highly regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.
