Maintenance works on the leaking Nabua Wastewater Pump Station DN700 concrete rising main pipeline along Ratu Mara Road, in front of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School are well underway.
Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) teams together with relevant utility providers and contractors began work yesterday afternoon (15/07) from 6 pm into this weekend – on a shift work basis.
With safety a top priority, excavation works are presently being carried out with teams safely navigating through a network of multiple underground utility assets to identify the leakage section of the wastewater pipeline.
WAF anticipates completing repairs by 6 pm this Sunday (17/07) after which the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will carry out reinstatement and backfilling works this will continue into Sunday night to allow for road reopening thereafter.
Due to the severity of the works, extensive traffic management is presently in place. Travellers along Ratu Mara Road travelling from Nasinu to Suva City are advised to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans.
The Authority also requests that the travelling public be mindful of the workers who will be working in the area.
