The Water Authority of Fiji is delighted to welcome the Former Chief of the New Zealand Army, Major General Peter Kelly (Retired), who will be working with the WAF management team on leadership over the coming days. Earlier yesterday (26/09), Major General Kelly (Rtd) had met with the Minister for Infrastructure, Hon. Jone Usamate and WAF Executives at the WAF National Office in Wainivula.
“It is wonderful to see that WAF management is being mentored by the former NZ Army Chief, who is also currently the CEO of the Upper Hut City Council in New Zealand. Building leadership capacity is an area of focus for WAF, and I am really pleased to see a man of Peter’s caliber helping us on this journey,” said Minister Usamate.”
This is part of the Pacific Vuvale that we have fostered over the years.”
“I wish the participants all the best and hope that they gain the leadership skills, as well as capacity building, that will help take things to the next level.”
A total of 60 staff made up of Managers and Team Leaders are presently undertaking Leadership training facilitated by Major General Kelly (Rtd) at the FRCS training facility. The program is supported by Local Government New Zealand and the Government of NZ.
