The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) Chief Executive Officer, Mr Barry Omundson, has tendered his resignation on 19 May 2021 citing personal reasons. The WAF Board has accepted Mr Omundson’s resignation, supporting the decision he has taken and wish him and his family the very best in their future endeavours.
During his short tenure with WAF, Mr Omundson fostered a culture of inclusivity and accountability and led a dynamic transformation journey with a focus on efficient and effective service levels. Under his leadership, WAF saw significant improvements across multiple sectors.
Taking a cue from the Fijian Bula Spirit, Mr Omundson fostered a work culture within WAF of unity and working together, the true ONE WAF TEAM spirit to provide every Fijian with improved water services.
The WAF Board has already begun the search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
During the transition period, the WAF Board will be working very closely with the Executive Management and employees to ensure that WAF continues to deliver an efficient and effective level of services to its customers.
