The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise the public that replacement works to the collapsed wastewater pipeline at the 4 miles bridge along Kings Road is nearing completion.
The replacement works were challenging due to the conditions of the repair site and the teams have been working around the clock.
A large amount of time was spent to safely navigate between buried utility services which are laid above the wastewater trunk main.
Thankfully with the support and guidance of the teams from the Fiji Roads Authority(FRA), Telecom Fiji Limited and Energy Fiji Limited our team was able to safely replace the wastewater pipeline.
The repair site has been handed over to the FRA for backfilling and reinstating of the road.
We wish to thank our customers and the travelling public for their understanding and apologise for the traffic inconvenience caused as a result of these urgent repairs.
Motorists are advised that the Suva and Nausori bound lanes are still closed.
The FRA will make further announcements on the reopening of the road once their work is completed.
Traffic management is in place for those that require to go close to the cavity area only on official business and to residences off Kings Road.
Travellers along this area are advised to be mindful of the above when finalising travel plans.
