Public Advisory – Unplanned Water Disruption Notice

UNPLANNED DISRUPTION NOTICE
The Water Authority of Fiji would like to advise that due to the following reservoirs not recovering well to its healthy operational levels, our customers feeding from these reservoirs will experience disruptions. We kindly ask these customers to prepare accordingly and to store water when its available.
Reservoirs & Affected areas:
Wainibuku Reservoir :
Low Pressure to No Water (high elevated areas includes – Makoi, Nepani, Nadawa, Rati Dovi Road, Dibulu, Lokia, Davuilevu Nakasi, Koronivia, CCC & No Inflow to Tovata, Kalabu, Nasinu, Flagstaff
Tovata Reservoir :
Makoi, Kalivetau, Veitata, Tovata Road, Qaranivalu, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham, Khalsa Rd
Flagstaff Reservoir :
High elevated areas and All feeding from Flagstaff Reservoir, Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth drive, Muanikau Road, Laucala Bay RD, McGregor road, Domain road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese, Amy Street, Johnson street, Spring street, High Street, Stewart street, Brown Street.
Kalabu reservoir :
No Water – All feeding from Kalabu Reservoir – Valelevu, Caqiri, Nawanawa, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal Vesivesi, Yasiyasi.
Nasinu Reservoir :
Low Pressure to No Water All feeding from Nasinu reservoir
Kinoya, Caubati. Manohan, Center Point, Laucala beach, Nokonoko, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal, Fletcher, Mukta Ben, Vesivesi Road, Bryce Road, PRB Raiwai, Nairai Road, Lees Road.
Tovata System
Nagatugatu reservoir :
No Water all feeding from Nagatugatu – Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Hts, Nagatugatu Residents next to Reservoir.
Tacirua reservoir :
Low pressure to No Water – All feeding from Tacirua Reservoir – Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji St, Tacirua Bus, Amputch St, Princess Road.
Dokanisuva reservoir :
Low pressure to No Water – All feeding from Dokanaisuva – Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement.
Colo-i-Suva reservoir:
Low pressure to No Water – All feeding from Colo-i-Suva – Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Road, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey.
Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling short code 5777 (all mobile networks).
Customers are kindly advised to store in their homes, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this temporary disruption period.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we seek your understanding and patience until such time supplies normalise.

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
