WAF UPDATE – Raralevu, Tamavua, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanisuva, Colo-i-Suva and Flagstaff Reservoirs

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise that the above reservoirs do not have healthy operational levels and customers will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent water supply in the next few hours.

In preparation for this, customers in the areas listed below are kindly advised to store in their homes, while it is still available, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this time.

Affected areas are:

📍Raralevu Reservoir
Ovea, Cautata, Vatoa, Lakena, Vunivivi,Kiuva ,Naitalasese, Daku, Maumi, Vusuya, Mokani, Naila, Bau Island, Taro.

📍Tamavua Reservoir
Nailuva, Delainavesi, Panaromic, Uduya Point, Waiqanake, Osonabukete, Beniveli, Namadi Heights, Princess Rd, Samabula, Mead Road.

📍Nagatugatu Reservoir
Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu Residents living beside the Reservoir.

📍Tacirua Reservoir
Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji Street, Tacirua Bus, Amputch Street, Princess Road.

📍Dokanisuva Reservoir
Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement.

📍Colo-i-Suva Reservoir
Naisogo, Colo-I-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Road, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

📍Flagstaff Reservoir
Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Muanikau Road., Laucala Bay Road, McGregor Road, Domain Road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese, Amy Street, Johnson Street, Spring Street, High Street, Stewart Street, Brown Street.

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
