PUBLIC ADVISORY – UNPLANNED WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – LAUTOKA (SARU DISTRIBUTION AREAS)

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in parts Lautoka that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply at times during the day from now until 12am Friday (20/12).

Affected Areas Include:

  • Vuda Back Road
  • Wairabetia Road
  • Lauwaki Feeder Road
  • Lauwaki Settlement
  • Viseisei Back Road

  • Natabua Housing
  • Field 40 Tramline Road
  • Captain Withers Street
  • Field 40 Road
  • MN Naidu Road
  • Ajodhya Prasad Road

The interruption in supply is due to suspected blockages at the Varaqe Dam, which supply raw water to the Saru Water Treatment Plant. The blockages are due to the recent heavy rain that was experienced at the dam catchment, last night (18/12).

WAF crew members are currently at the dams with an effort to clear the blockages in order to normalize supply to the Saru Water Treatment Plant as well as the affected service reservoirs.

Water supply is expected to be normalised by 1am Friday (20/12)

The Authority is kindly advising customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.

The Authority highly regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.

For further enquiries, customers can call 334 6777 and 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel & Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj
