The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the following parts of Suva that they will be experiencing low water pressure to no water at times during the day from today (02/02/2018) to Saturday (03/02/2018).
Areas Affected Include;
• Delainavesi
• Uduya/ Panaronic
• Veisari/ Waiqanake
• Samabula/ Rewa Street
• Waimanu Road/Toorak
• Ratu Sukuna Road
• Tacirua and Tamavua areas.
The disruption is a result of extremely high turbid water entering into the raw water intakes of Waila and Tamauva systems, due to the heavy rainfall in the upper catchment area. The high turbidity levels has reduced water production capacities causing low water levels in the reservoirs.
Supply is expected to be gradually restored from today up to Saturday evening 03/02/2018. However, restoration will depend on weather conditions.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in those areas to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during the period.
Water carts will be on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this disruption may cause.
For further enquiries, customers can call 3346777 and 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel & Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj
