Public Advisory – Planned Water Disruption Notice

PLANNED WORKS ADVISORY – SUVA NAUSORI WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise customers that we will be carrying out routine desludging of one of our Clarifiers at the Waila Water Treatment Plant tomorrow morning (21/4/22), during which the Waila Raw and Clear Water Pumps will be switched off temporarily. This desludging is part of our Water Treatment Plan Annual Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule.
These works ensure that the potable drinking water we produce at our Waila Water Treatment Plant maintains compliance with drinking water standards and is produced at the required quantity.
While these operations should not disrupt service delivery, we kindly ask customers living in the areas listed below to store as a precautionary measure.
Areas:
📍Wainibuku Reservoir
– Makoi, Nepani, Nadawa, Rt Dovi Road, Dibulu, Lokia, Davuilevu Nakasi, Koronivia, CCC
📍Kalabu Reservoir
– Valelevu, Caqiri, Nawanawa, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal Vesivesi, Yasiyasi.
📍Nasinu Reservoir
– Kinoya, Caubati. Manohan, Center Point, Laucala, Nokonoko, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal Vesives, Fletcher, Mukta Ben.
📍Flagstaff Reservoir
– Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Muanikau Road, Laucala Bay Road, Bau Road, McGregor Road, Domain Road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese.
📍Tovata Reservoir
– Makoi, Kaliveitau, Veitata, Tovata Road, Qaranivalu, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham, Klasha Road.
📍Nagatugatu Reservoir
– Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Klasha, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu Residents living beside the Reservoir.
📍Tacirua Reservoir
– Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji Street, Tacirua Bus, Amputch Street, Princess Road.
📍Dokainasuva Reservoir
– Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement.
📍Colo-I-Suva Reservoir
– Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Road, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
