Urban and Peri-Urban Water Supply
We provide safe and clean drinking water to Fijians in Urban and Peri-Urban areas where much of our population is concentrated. Our country is blessed with quality surface and ground waters and we treat our water to meet WHO guidelines
Rural Water Scheme
With our Rural Water Scheme, we provide a total of 2000 litres of water per fortnight to households who do not have access to our water systems. This initiative greatly assists those families who are in need.
Free Water Scheme
Our Free Water Scheme, applicable to households that earn an income of less than 30,000 annually, provide up to 92,500 liters of water for free per year. Customers that exceed this amount will have to pay for their extra usage.
Private Sector Utility Assistance
As announced in the 2020-2021 National Budget, Private Sector Utility Assistance is to spur construction and job creation by private sector investors. Through this initiative, Government will subsidise utility-related development costs which include WAF and EFL connection for MSMEs.
A total budget of $1.5 million has been allocated for this initiative for the 2020-2021 financial year.
Liquid Trade Waste
Our Liquid Trade Waste Program was created to regulate and monitor liquid trade waste discharge into our Waste Water system. We regularly advise customers on how they should handle liquid trade waste, and on the installation, proper usage and maintenance of grease traps.
Waste Water Services in Urban Areas
We handle and treat more than 20,000 million litres of waste water annually to make it safe to put back into the environment. We ensure that we comply with the Environment Act and international guidelines on waste water treatment.
