The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the elevated parts of Suva and Nasinu that water supply will be disrupted from this morning until 6am Friday morning (29/03).Areas affected include customers which are supplied by the following reservoirs:
- Tovata and Wainibuku Resevoirs
- Nagatugatu Reservoir
- Tacirua Reservoir
- Dokanaisuva Reservoir
- Colo-i-Suva Reservoir
WAF is currently in the process of refilling the reservoirs listed above.
The interruption in supply is due to a burst 600mm trunk main (which feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku Reservoir) near the Waila Water Treatment Plant.
WAF crew members are currently conducting restoration works by flushing the water lines, a process done to fully normalise water supply to an area.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks will be provided to service the affected areas above.
For any urgent water carting requests, members of the public are to contact the Authority’s National Call Centre on 5777.
Water supply is expected to be normalized by 6am Friday morning (29/03).
The Authority highly regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.
