PUBLIC ADVISORY – UNPLANNED WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – TAMAVUA

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise customers living in Tamavua along Princess Road and surrounding areas that they may experience intermittent supply of water at times from today (18/03).

Affected areas include:

  • Parts of Princess Road – from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street
  • Fiji National University – College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences (CMNHS)
  • Tamavua Village
  • Wailoku Road
  • Naranji Street
  • WAF Wailoku Depot
  • Deoji Street
  • Upper Ragg Avenue
  • Amputch Street

The temporary interruption in water supply is due to a burst main infront of the Twomey Hospital in Tamavua, along Princess Road.

Our ground teams are working around the clock to restore supply as well as to address the balancing of  water pressure and flow in pipelines and reservoirs which is causing fluctuations in water levels which has resulted in intermittent water supply to customers.

The Authority advises customers residing in the area above to use water wisely and to store water for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.

The Authority urges customers to conserve and always store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least two to three days in their homes at all times.

The Authority also encourages Fijians to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works, as well as natural disasters.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and we seek your understanding and patience until such time supplies normalize.

For further enquiries, customers can call 3346777 or shortcode 5777 (all mobile networks) or email contact@waf.com.fj for water carting requests as well as to report leakages on roadsides.
