Unplanned Disruption Notice – Waila Raw Water Pump

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our customers that due to a malfunction of our standby generator, all our Waila raw water pumps are currently off, and as a result our customers living in the areas listed below will be experiencing low to no water pressure until futher notice. As such, we ask
residents in the following areas to prepare accordingly and store enough water for use during this temporary disruption period.

Affected areas:

Wainibuku Reservoir –
Low Pressure Elevated Areas at Nakasi, Davuilevu, Makoi, Nepani, Navosai, Narere, Koronivia Rd, Koronivia School

Tovata Reservoir –
No Water – all feeding from Tovata Reservoir & No Inflow to Nagatugatu Reservoir – Makoi, Kaliveitau, Veitata, Tovata rd, Qaranivalu, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham, Khalsa Rd

Kalabu Reservoir –
Low Pressure to Elevated areas – Duvula, Nawanawa, Valelevu, Yasiyasi Rd.

Tacirua Reservoir –
No Water to Elevated areas – Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji St, Tacirua Bus, Amputch St, Princess Rd

Dokanisuva Reservoir –
Low Pressure to Elevated areas – Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement

Coloisuva Reservoir –
Low Pressure to Elevated areas – Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Rd, Marshall Rd, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey

Raralevu Reservoir –
No Water – Ovea, Cautata, Vatoa, Lakena, Vunivivi, Kiuva, Naitalasese, Daku, Maumi, Vusuya, Mokani, Naila, Bau Island, Tokatoka, Nakelo, Rewa, Vunimono, Nadali Airport, Wainibokasi, Naselai

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in the case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we seek your patience and understanding until such time the water supply normalises.

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
