Please treat the water it’s really dirty and not everyone can afford bottle waters and sometimes we also forget to boil water so please chlorine treat. Thanks

#water is a finite resource, and the supplies on #earth today are no more than what was here at the beginning of the planet.

#WaterConservation is using water efficiently and avoiding waste, which is essential to ensure we have adequate water today and in the future.

Fijians are very lucky; we have the cheapest water rates in the region, at 15 cents for the first 1000 litres! Compare this to the fact that it costs us $1.05 to produce that same 1000 litres of water.

The average global water use is 180L/person; in Fiji, the average water usage is 220L/person.

Sadly, we sometimes take water for granted because of how cheap it is. That is why we ask you, our customers, to please practise water conservation whenever and wherever possible, because water sources in Fiji are not unlimited. This is true even for the rest of the world.

Remember, we must save water because every drop you waste means that someone, somewhere, goes without water. It is up to all of us to use the water we have wisely, and it is as simple as each of us making small changes.

You want to know the facts of water resource management It's the Hydrology Department who collected water resource data to design the water supply system. How much water is available in the river catchment or water source to meet growing demand in the next 50-100 years. The WAF lacks knowledge in this field of Hydrological service from top to bottom. The WAF hydrological database is full of garbage in and out. WAF has more than 40 percent unaccounted for water..Hydrological data collection and managing data is very important to study and analyse the effect of Climate change, drought, dry season flows, yearly flows, catchment deforestation, water quality and so forth from a long list.

Today, we celebrate International Women's Day under the inspiring theme “Give to Gain.” 🌸

This theme reminds us that when we invest in others through our time, support, and knowledge, we help them grow while also strengthening ourselves. In leadership and in finance, we often speak about returns on investment, but the greatest returns are not always financial. They come from sharing what we know, mentoring others, and creating spaces where voices — especially women’s voices — are heard, valued, and empowered.

At the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF), our mission to provide safe drinking water to all Fijians depends on teamwork, integrity, and uplifting one another. When we give opportunities, encouragement, and recognition, we gain stronger teams, deeper trust, and a more inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

As women, we play a powerful role in shaping a culture where giving is not seen as a loss, but as a catalyst for growth. Let us continue to champion one another, mentor the next generation of women professionals, and lead with empathy and purpose.

At the Water Authority of Fiji, the heart of what we do is our people — loyal, committed, and steadfast in giving every day so that essential services reach communities across Fiji. This truly reflects the spirit of “Give to Gain.” Through what we give in service, our communities gain dignity, health, and opportunity.

What inspires me daily is knowing that the small things we each do well in our own spaces add up to a lasting difference in the lives of families and communities at large. It is both humbling and deeply fulfilling to be part of a team that strengthens itself through continuous learning, embraces change, and adapts as leadership expectations evolve — always striving to deliver better outcomes for the people we are privileged to serve.

As leaders, it is important to know your purpose and value in the spaces you serve. Set standards, use your influence to elevate others, and embrace opportunities to make a difference. When positioned for such a time as this, speak up, lead with conviction, and turn opportunities into impact.

Be the change you wish to see. For such a time as this, we are called to serve.

Happy International Women's Day 🌸

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that real progress comes from the value we contribute to the spaces we serve.

I am proud to be part of a team of women within the Operations division at the Water Authority of Fiji, managing contracts and their legal implications while working closely with technical teams. Our work requires careful judgment, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the responsibilities behind every contract to ensure they not only protect the organisation but also support project delivery and the communities that rely on our services.

I am grateful to work under the leadership of an inspiring female Chief & Manager and alongside a dedicated colleague whose professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to excellence make our team stronger every day. Together, we support one another, share our expertise, and face challenges with confidence.

When women give their skills, leadership, and perspective, the gain is stronger institutions, better governance, and meaningful progress.

Happy International Women's Day. When women give their best, everyone gains. 🌸✨
