The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) once again reminds all its customers that the grace period on paying their water bills, as part of WAF’s assistance to COVID-19 affected Fijians, ends on 31 March 2021.
WAF thanks all customers who have been clearing their bills and not letting it build up as per our regular advice during this grace period.
At less than 1 cent per litre, Fiji has one of the lowest rates in the South Pacific region and the world. However, it is important to bear in mind that the treatment of water is an expensive process.
Fijians who earn under $30,000 a year, and are currently under Government subsidy for free water, were not greatly affected by the grace period.
Initially, we gave a grace period for water payments because we did not want Fijians to be disconnected from water services during a time when there was a lot of confusion and fear.
With Fiji now being COVID-contained and things have settled down, we hope that we have helped Fijians during this grace period.
All commercial customers and institutions will need to clear all outstanding payments by 31 March 2021.
All residential customers will need to clear at least 50 per cent of their outstanding payments by 30 April 2021 and enter into a payment plan that ensures full outstanding accounts are paid by 31 December 2021, and all current bills from 1April 2021 must be paid in full by their due dates.
To pay your account please call 5777 or visit one of our offices.
