The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to provide an update on the progress of repair works on the pipeline rupture at Waimanu caused by power fluctuations at the Waimanu Raw Water Pump Station early Wednesday morning.
The fault site has been fully exposed and the extent of damages determined. Due to the severity of the damage sustained the tentative repair timeline of a minimum of 72 hours is estimated.
Utilising our backup sources, the total Inflow into Tamavua WTP has improved from 53 million litres to 67 million litres, however this total inflow is still 3 million litres short of the total inflow requirement to meet production capacity.
Valve Operations will be carried out to maintain levels and sustain system pressures until repairs can be completed.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your usual support and understanding until such time that supplies normalise.
