Earlier this week, our CEO and his Executive Management Team continued their visits in the Northern Division, touring our brand new 5 million litre Savusavu Packaged Water Treatment Plant.
This project will provide Fijians in Savusavu with an improved supply of clean drinking water by increasing storage capacity and stability for the Savusavu water system, which will address supply disruptions which occurred frequently in past due to turbidity issues caused by heavy rain fall.
The new facility includes a new 1 million litre treated water reservoir which will complement the existing reservoir at plant.
In coming weeks, WAF will hold community engagement awareness sessions with Fijians in communities in Savusavu on the availability of new water connection provisions in certain areas, following recent main extension works.
The team also visited and spoke to WAF staff based at our Dreketi Borehole and Reservoir facility, Nabouwalu Depot, and Savusavu Depot.
Dr Chanan commended the staff for their efforts and commitment to serving Fijians which was followed by a talanoa session, giving them the chance to directly discuss any issues they have with the management team.
