The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) held its 2022 Central Division Annual Customer Forum at the Suva Tanoa Plaza on Tuesday (31/5/22).
WAF CEO, Dr Amit Chanan, said it was good for WAF to be able to hold the face-to-face forum and engage directly with customers once again, after it had been postponed for the past 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These forums are very critical, as they allow us to directly garner feedback from our customers, know their issues, and in directly engaging with them, we are able to provide them with updates on current projects that directly impact our service delivery to them,” said Dr Chanan.
The forum included two sessions – a morning session aimed at business customers and an afternoon one for residential customers – allowing for targeted discussions relevant to both sets of customers.
Members of the public who attended the forum were also updated on WAF’s current projects and future plans to alleviate water supply issues, including Project Viria which aims to address the supply deficit for the Suva-Nausori corridor caused by the increase in population as a result of rural-urban drift and rapid development in the region.
WAF personnel, including the CEO, presented slides and detailed various tasks and projects to the guests, as well as answering any questions that were posed.
The forum also included updates on WAF’s progress toward digital transactions and the debut of a new WAF app where customers can manage their account and issues, as well as receive information directly at their fingertips.
A forum for customers in the Western Division will be held at the Lautoka Tanoa Waterfront Hotel on 29 June, 2022, followed by a Northern Division forum at the Labasa Hotel Takia on 25 July, 2022.
