Public Advisory – Unplanned Water Disruption Notice

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to like to advise our valued customers residing in Nadi and Lautoka that our technicians will be carrying out repair work to a damaged air valve along the duplicate trunk main that services the two areas from now, until further notice.

As a result of the urgent and necessary repair works, our customers living in the areas listed below will experience disruptions in their water supply.

Customers in the areas listed below are kindly advised to store in their homes, while it is still available, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this time.

Affected areas are:

1) Kashmir Reservoir Supply Zone
Bavadra Road, Ram Sammy Reddy Road, S. M. Koya Road, Sarju Delegate Road, Kashmir Areas, Chandmari, V. M. Pillay, Razak Road, Kermode Road, Tavakubu Road, Sukanaivalu Road, Waiyavi, Vomo Street, Hollander, Simla Area, Sandalwood, Jinnu Road, Kaunitoni Road, Kara Punja, Cakau Street, Waya Street, Dravuni Street, Ratu Meli Road, Adam Street, Tavakubu Back Road, Eddie Wong street, Musuniwai Street, Ganges Road, Ram Asre, Golf Link Crescent, Link Road, Vaivai Area, Tawatawa, Maharaj Place, Bulileke, Varamaoli and Tavakubu Village.

2) Vuda Reservoir Supply Zone
Viseisei Village, Vuda Point, Dreketi Feeder Road, Delai Saweni, Saweni Beach Road, Lawaki Village, Rototank Road, Velovelo Road, Navutu, Vuda Reservoir Inlet customers.

3) Saru Reservoir Supply Zone
Natabua, Navula, Vuda Back Road, Wairabetia, Saru Back Road, Field 40 Area, MN Naidu Road, Balawa, Chandmari High Area, Morris Street, Hedstrom Place, Banaras, Viseisei Back Road, Vuda Back Road from Queens highway, Saru MGM, Top line Area, Natokowaqa, Ajodhya Road, Josaia Street, Ika Place, Tavai Street, Dawai Street.

4) Tualesia Reservoir Supply Zone
Simla Area, Thomson Crescent, Waya Street, Valima Hill, and surrounding areas

5) Phluggers Reservoir Supply Zone
Lautoka Hospital, Lautoka City, Navutu Industrial, Namoli Industrial, Namoli Village, and surrounding areas

6) DMO Reservoir Supply Zone
Tagimoucia Street, Natokowaqa, and surrounding areas

7) Nadele Reservoir & Blackrock Reservoir Supply Zone
Nadele, Nagado Road, Korobebe, Masimasi, Naboutini, Keolaiya, Thompson Road, Narendra Singh Road, Wailoko, Natalau, Luvuci, Sabeto, Waimalika, Naboutini Back Road (Kabani rd Intersection to Natalau), Parts of Queen’s Road, RFMF Camp, elevated areas of Legalega, elevated areas of Waqadra, elevated areas of Mt.Saint Mary School.

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
