UNPLANNED DISRUPTION NOTICE – BA
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the following areas that they will be experiencing low water pressure to no water supply at times during the day from now until further notice.
As such we kindly advise customers residing in these areas to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Affected areas include:
– Upper Tauvegavega, Vutuni, Varoko Top, Savara, Navau, Etatoko Top, Khalsa, Vatayaka and Varavu Top, Varandoli area
– Talaiya, Moto, Vunivaivai, Tabataba, Chinakoti, Kum and Naruku
– Maururu Village and surrounding areas
This is due to low water levels currently being experienced at our Waiwai Water Treatment Clear Water Reservoir and other service reservoirs in the Ba Supply Zone as a result of low raw water inflow caused by the flooding.
The flooding downstream of the Waiwai Water Treatment Plant has also caused damages to DN 150 and DN 100 water mains along the Maururu creeks and Talaiya Creek.
WAF team members are currently on standby at the Waiwai WTP to mobilise to clear the clogged pump station screens and undertake repairs on damaged as soon as the flood water levels recedes.
The Authority will be working to restore the water supply to affected customers as soon as the raw water inflow normalises into Waiwai Water Treatment Plant and Clear Water Reservoir levels recovers to effective operating levels.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
For water carting requests, call 3346777 or 5777.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and seek your patience and understanding until such time that supplies normalise.
For further enquiries, customers can call 3346777 and 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel & Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj.
