Unplanned Disruption Notice – Lautoka
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our valued customers in Lautoka that due to the continuous heavy rain in the interior of Lautoka both intakes supplying water to the Buabua treatment plant are clogged and there is no flow in to the plant. As a result, our customers living in the areas listed below will experience a disruption in their water supply from tonight.
We kindly ask affected customers to prepare accordingly and store enough water for use during this time, when it is available, and to supplement with rain water where possible.
Our team is currently unable to reach the two intakes as all three Irish crossings on the access road to the Dam are under water, and will have to wait for waters to recede before they can travel to the dam to clean the clogged screen.
