Unplanned Water Disruption Notice – Waila Water Treatment Plant
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise our customers feeding from the Waila Water Treatment Plant, that they will be experiencing a disruption in their water supply from now until further notice, as a result of the unavoidable shutdown of our Wainibuku Raw Water and Clean Water pump. This is a necessary safety measure due to the unprecedented record levels of turbidity (dirt in water) in our raw water source caused by the heavy downpour.
Customers in the below areas are kindly advised to store, when it is available, enough amounts of water in their homes that is sufficient to last for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this temporary disruption period.
Affected areas include:
– All of those feeding from Raralevu Reservoir:
Ovea, Cautata, Vatoa, Lakena, Vunivivi,Kiuva, Naitalasese, Daku, Maumi, Vusuya, Mokani, Naila, Bau Island, Tokatoka, Nakelo, Rewa, Vunimono, Nadali Airport, Wainibokasi, Naselai
– All those feeding from Wainibuku Reservoir:
Makoi, Nepani, Nadawa, Ratu Dovi Road, Dibulu, Lokia, Davuilevu Nakasi, Koronivia, CCC & No Inflow to Tovata, Kalabu, Nasinu, Flagstaff
In addition, customers serviced by the following reservoirs are also advised to expect disruptions as teams are in the process of assessing leakages and potential damage.
– All feeding from Kalabu Reservoir:
Valelevu, Caqiri, Nawanawa, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal Vesivesi, Yasiyasi
– All those feeding from Nasinu Reservoir:
Kinoya, Caubati. Manohan, Center Point, Laucala, Nokonoko, Koka, Kinoya Road, Vasant Lal Vesivesi, Fletcher, Mukta Ben,
– All those feeding from Flagstaff Reservoir:
Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Muanikau Road, Laucala Bay Road, Bau Road, McGregor Road, Domain Road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese, Nailuva Road, and Albert Lee
– All those feeding from Tovata Reservoir & No Inflow to Nagatugatu Reservoir:
Makoi, Kaliveitau, Veitata, Tovata Road, Qaranivalu, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham, Khalsa Road
Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling shortcode 1507 (all mobile networks).
Our teams are working towards rectifying the issue as soon as possible.
