UPDATE: WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – TAMAVUA WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise its customers residing in the areas listed below, that the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant is still currently facing turbidity (dirt in water) issues, as a result of the intense rainfall experience over the weekend.
The increased rainfall and run off into the Waimanu River resulted in a dramatic spike in raw water turbidity and in order to ensure that water treatment quality is maintained, inflow into the treatment plant has to be reduced so as to ensure proper settling time and treatment.
This reduced inflow will result in reduced production, affecting reservoir levels for Tamavua and its downstream reservoirs and customers.
Affected areas are:
⚬ All feeding from Tamavua Reservoir, Nailuva, Delainavesi – Togalevu, Namadi Heights, Princess Road, Rewa Street, Ratu Sukuna.
⚬ All feeding from Nagatugatu Reservoir – Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu Residents living beside the Reservoir.
⚬ All feeding from Dakanaisuva Reservoir -Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, and Vunileba Settlement.
⚬ All feeding from Colo-I-Suva Reservoir – Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Road, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey
Customers in the above areas are kindly advised to store in their homes, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this temporary disruption period.
