WAF UPDATE – Tamavua and Tovata System

The Water Authority of Fiji would like to advise that water in the Tamavua, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanisuva, and Colo-i-Suva Reservoirs are dropping to critical levels which may cause low pressure to intermittent supply until further notice.

In preparation for this, customers in the areas listed below are kindly advised to store in their homes, while it is still available, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this time.

Affected areas are:

– Low Pressure to No Water – all feeding from Tamavua Reservoir, Princess Rd, Rewa St, Ratu Sukuna, Nailuva, Namadi Hts, Delainavesi, Lami village, Veisari, Panaromic, Waiqanake, Togalevu

πŸ“ Nagatugatu Reservoir
– Low Pressure – all feeding from Nagatugatu Reservoir – Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Hts, Nagatugatu Residents living beside the Reservoir

πŸ“ Tacirua Reservoir
– No water to high elevated areas. Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji St, Tacirua Bus, Amputch St, Princess Rd

πŸ“ Dokanisuva Reservoir
– Low Pressure to Elevated areas – Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement

πŸ“ Colo-i-Suva Reservoir
– Low Pressure to Elevated areas – Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Rd, Marshall Rd, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays].Β *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type AΒ – $285 [β€œT” from existing connection]Β Type BΒ $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
