The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise customers living in elevated parts of Kinoya and surrounding areas that they may experience intermittent supply of water at times from this afternoon (17/04).
Affected Areas Include:
- Kinoya Road
- Kinoya Village
- Energy Fiji Limited [Kinoya Depot]
- Pacific Energy Service Station Kinoya
- Elevated parts of Vesivesi Road
The temporary interruption in water supply is to allow WAF ground teams to carry out urgent repairs to a DN150mm water main leakage identified at the junction of Kinoya Road and Ratu Dovi Road.
The leakage has resulted in reduction of water levels in the Nasinu Reservoir and has prompted the Authority to conduct repairs immediately.
The Authority advises customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely and to store water for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.
WAF urges customers to conserve and always store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least two to three days in their homes at all times.
WAF also encourages customers to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
