The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the following elevated parts of Lautoka, that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply from today, January 24th until Friday morning, January 25th 2019.
Areas Affected Include;
• Natabua Housing
• Wairabetia
• Saru
• Banaras
• Natokowaqa
• F40 Area
• Balawa
• Part of Dr Singh Bend
• Part of Feeder Rd
The interruption in supply is due to suspected blockages in the raw water bulk main from the Varaqe Dam to the Saru Water Treatment Plant resulting in low production levels.
To normalize supply the following operational works is being conducted by WAF crew members: cleaning outlet screens at the dam, flushing to remove air locks and accumulated silts from the pipeline and fix leakages that may be found from walking the raw water line.
Supply will be restored on Friday morning, January 25th 2019.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
