Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) CEO, Mr Barry Omundson was on the ground today at the Waila water treatment plant with the WAF team.
Mr Omundson was briefed by WAF’s Regional Manager Central-Eastern, Mr Ilisoni Saladuadua on the situation and ongoing work to normalize water supply after Tropical Cyclone Sarai.
“I would like to thank all members of the WAF team who spent time away from their families to conduct emergency repairs and are still working to get water supply normalized for Fijians,” said Mr Omundson.
CEO Omundson also visited WAF’s newly certified laboratory which will now provide a range of impressive services to Fijians.
He also visited the Rewa depot, Nausori customer service centre and the Kinoya wastewater treatment plant and will be visiting the other treatment plants and major project sites in the coming weeks.
“It is very important to understand the situation on the ground and this can not be done from the office alone. Meeting the ground teams and being a part of operations will provide important insight on what is needed to improve water services to Fijians.”
