The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in high elevated areas in the following parts of Suva that they will be experiencing low water pressure from tonight (21/03) till Friday (23/03).
Areas Affected Include;
- Rewa Street
- Waimanu Road
- Ratu Sukuna Road
- Namadi Heights
- Princes Road
- Samabula
- Delainavesi
- Wailoku
- Lami
- Qauia
- Uduya Muaivuso up to Togalevu
The interruption in supply is due to the low reservoir levels as a result of clogging of the filters at Tamavua Water Treatment Plant that affected the filtration process which in turn caused low water production for some time. This was due to a sudden change of the quality of raw water.
Currently, the Treatment Plant is back in normal operation and the supply is expected to be gradually restored from tonight (21/03) up to Friday (23/03).
Further, low pressures will also be experienced in the areas fed from Nagatugatu and Tacirua Reservoirs as a result of the planned power outage that occurred at Khalsa Booster pumping station earlier today, which lasted for approximately seven hours. WAF is working towards getting a backup power supply for this pumping station.
Water carts will be on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in these areas to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during the period.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this disruption may cause.
