Further to the advisory provided yesterday with respect to the repair works on the Waimanu ruptured pipeline caused by power fluctuations at the Waimanu Raw Water Pump Station on (9/11/22), the Water Authority of Fiji would like to inform the public that due to heavy rain at our raw water sources this morning the Savura Raw Water Intake has been blocked by debris brought about by rising water levels.
The raw water intake blockage will further affect our service delivery as production is further reduced due to this unforeseen event.
Fijians living in elevated areas such as Upper Delainavesi, Lami Village, Upper Lami Town, Veisari, Valenicina, Matata, Osonabukete, Upper Samabula, Upper Ragg, Lower Ragg, Tamavua, Tacirua, Sakoca, Dokanaisuva and Coloisuva are being further affected.
Our dive team are currently on site carrying out clearing works to restore Savura Operations.
Valve operations will be carried out to maintain levels and sustain system pressures until repairs can be completed.
Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in the case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we seek your patience and understanding until such time the water supply normalizes.
