A delegation from the Water Authority of Fiji (#WAF) visited the Suez Caledonienne des Eaux (CDE) Water Utility Operator in Noumea, New Caledonia recently.
The WAF delegation comprising engineers and senior operations staff, undertook this learning expedition as part of the Capacity Building Programme funded by the European Investment Bank (#EIB).
WAF CEO, Dr Amit Chanan, said that information and expertise sharing was an essential part of the capacity building that WAF is currently focusing on, to improve operations and service delivery across the board.”
We are very thankful for EIB funding that made this visit possible, and for Suez in hosting the learning delegation” said Dr Chanan.”
As we face similar challenges, particularly in terms of the ocean and climate change nexus, there is much we can learn from other small island Water Utility operators, and in turn share what knowledge we have garnered over the years with them.”
Merci beaucoup from WAF to all Suez CDE staff, New Caledonia Government Minister in charge of Digital Development and Energy Transition, and Mayor of Ouvea Island Municipal Council, for the tremendous support and professional advice rendered to the WAF Team during the visit.
