UNPLANNED WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – WESTERN REGION
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our valued customers residing in the Western Region that the Vatukoula Water Treatment Plant is receiving reduced water inflow, due to a blockages affecting 3 out of 4 raw water pumps at the Nasivi Raw Water Pump Station caused by major flooding in the area.
The low production levels at the Vatukoula Water Treatment Plant will impact the reservoir levels in Tavua, and customers may begin to experience low pressure to no water supply from now, until further notice.
Our crew will mobilise to the area affected by the blockage to clear the raw water pump screens when the flood water recedes and it is deemed safe to do so.
In addition to the above, our customers residing in Rakiraki, Ba, Lautoka, and Sigatoka may also begin to experience low pressure to no water supply from now, until further notice, as a result of low water production caused by blockages in the raw water intakes, due to the current heavy rain being experienced by the region.
In preparation for this, customers are kindly advised to store in their homes, while it is still available, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
For water carting requests members of the public are to contact our National Call Centre on 3346777 or 5777.
We highly regret and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
For further enquiries, customers can call 3346777 and 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel, and Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj
