The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our valued customers that the turbidity issues causing critical water levels at our Flagstaff, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, and Colo-i-Suva Reservoir has been resolved and the water supply has been normalised.
WAF Chief Operating Officer, Seru Soderberg, said that the earlier advisory was put out for customers to store water in case the reservoirs reach critical operating levels that would have caused no water supply.
“Our team worked quickly to identify issues and put out relevant notices as soon as possible, so our customers can prepare accordingly,” said Mr Soderberg.
“A few customers at elevated areas faced intermittent and low-pressure supply yesterday however as the turbidity issues were resolved, reservoir levels were built up throughout the day yesterday. This enabled the mitigation of a possible major disruption that would have affected a lot of our customers.”
Mr Soderberg reminded customers that we are still in the midst of cyclone season, and to always have water stored for at least 2 to 3 days worth of use, in case of emergencies due to natural disasters like cyclones and flooding.
We thank our customers for their patience and understanding.
