MEDIA RELEASE – APPEAL TO MOTORISTS IN NADI & LAUTOKA
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise motorists travelling along roads in the greater Nadi and Lautoka area to give way to the water carting trucks during the disruption period (3rd to 6th February).
The Authority requests motorists to follow the traffic rules and be patient as water carting trucks are deployed to cart water to affected areas.
“To deliver water on a timely manner, the Water Authority of Fiji requests motorists to understand that more than one hundred trucks is deployed around Nadi and Lautoka to cart drinking water to major services and to the members of the public who are affected by the Nagado Water Shut down,” said WAF Board Director, Mr Kamal Gounder.
Mr. Gounder added that there may be traffic congestion during peak time especially on Saturday as it is a shopping day so requesting travelling public to be understanding during this time.
Mr Gounder said WAF apologises for the inconvenience caused.
