Public Notice: Water Meter Reading and Disconnection Areas for The Month of August 2022

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in some parts of Suva, Nausori, Deuba, Korovou, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Labasa that our technical team representing WAF will be conducting water meter reading and water meter disconnections for all overdue accounts.

WAF customers are kindly advised to ensure that WAF meters are accessible for meter reading by the WAF technicians with no hindrance arising from gate locks or ferocious dogs. Customers are also encouraged to ensure that the water meter area is always kept clean and well maintained.

Water meter disconnection will be done to all overdue accounts for Commercial, Institutional and Residential customers and is not limited to below sites.
Customers can provide the water meter reading picture should you are not available at home to open gates for the technicians through our email platform

WAF urges all customers to ensure payments of outstanding bills are done on time to avoid disconnection of services. Water meter disconnection geographical locations is not limited to above listed area. Upon disconnection, customers can make their payments with WAF’s registered payment agents and email our contact centre for facilitation of reconnection at
WAF customers now have the option of choosing a mode of bill delivery through either Email or SMS and requested to visit their nearest customer service office to make their preferred selection for timely bill deliveries.
WAF also wishes to advise its customers to contact the WAF National Call Centre on 3346777 or 5777 for Vodafone, Digicel and Inkk users or email: for assistance should you have not received your bills on time.

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
