Staff members from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) visited Saint Christopher’s Home in Nakasi on Thursday last week (20/12).
WAF General Manager Customer Services, Sekove Uluinayau said that it was humbling to the Water Authority staff members to pay a visit to the children, particularly as we approach the festive season.
“The main purpose of the visit was to give back to the community as over the years we have been cleaning up hospitals, beach fronts which included mangrove planting. This year, we decided to visit Saint Christopher’s Home and spend some time with kids.”
“My staff at our Customer Services Unit in Suva and Nausori had raised $500, this was donated to the children. We also distributed WAF merchandises to the children and purchased Christmas lights decorations for the home,” said Mr Uluinayau.
“It was a humbling experience for the thirty WAF staff who visited the home yesterday (20/12). Emotions were touched when kids performed their songs and items reflecting the true meaning of Christmas – which is marking the birth of Jesus Christ.”
“Their performances reminded the WAF team that Christmas is about sharing what we have together with love and we were fortunate to share this with children of Saint Christopher’s home this year.”
Mr Uluinayau said that the visit was part of WAF’s corporate social responsibility.
