Public Advisory – Unplanned Water Disruption Notice

DISRUPTION NOTICE – Tovata & Wainibuku System

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our customers in the following areas that they may experience low pressure to intermittent supply as the reservoirs that feed these areas did not recover to maximum operating capacity from last night.

Customers in these areas are advised to prepare accordingly and store water for use during this time.

Reservoirs that will be facing low pressure to no water:

Kalabu reservoir:
No Water – All feeding from Kalabu Reservoir – Valelevu, Caqiri, Nawanawa, Koka, Kinoya Road, Vasant Lal Vesivesi, Yasiyasi.

Nasinu Reservoir:
Low Pressure to No Water – All feeding from Nasinu reservoir
Kinoya, Caubati. Manohan, Center Point, Laucala beach, Nokonoko, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal, Fletcher, Mukta Ben, Vesivesi Road, Bryce Road, PRB Raiwai, Nairai Road, Lees Road.

Flagstaff Reservoir:
High elevated areas and All feeding from flagstaff reservoir, Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth drive, Muanikau Road, Laucala Bay Road, McGregor Road, Domain road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese, Amy Street, Johnson street, Spring street, High Street, Stewart street, Brown Street.

Nagatugatu reservoir:
No Water all feeding from Nagatugatu – Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Hts, Nagatugatu Residents next to Reservoir.

Dokanisuva reservoir:
Low pressure to No Water – All feeding from Dokanaisuva – Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement.

Colo-i-suva reservoir:
Low pressure to No Water – All feeding from Coloisuva – Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Rd, Marshall Rd, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling shortcode 5777 (all mobile networks).

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
