PLANNED WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – SIGATOKA
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise our customers living in parts of Sigatoka, that we will be carrying out cleaning works on Sedimentation Tank No.2 at the Matovo Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
Due to reduced raw water inflow into the Matovo WTP, as a result of these essential and unavoidable cleaning works, customers living in the areas listed below will be experiencing low water pressure to no water supply, from 8:00am Friday, 09 July 2021, until further notice.
Affected areas include:
⚬ Elevated areas of Olosara;
⚬ Korotogo and neighbouring areas;
⚬ Part of Sigatoka Town and Lawaqa area;
⚬ Kedrakulu and neighbouring areas;
⚬ Rakirakilevu, Malaqereqere, Mataqe and Yadua neighbouring areas;
⚬ Elevated areas of Cuvu Back Road;
⚬ Naduri, Nawamagi, Naroro and Malevu Village; and
⚬ Sigatoka Hospital & neighbouring areas
We kindly request that customers residing in the areas listed above prepare accordingly and store enough water to cater for their use for at least 2 to 3 days during this temporary disruption period.
WAF urges customers to conserve and store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days in their homes at all times. Customers are also encouraged to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup water supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and we seek your understanding and patience until such time water supply is normalised.
Water carting trucks will be on standby to service the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.
