WAF UPDATE – Tacirua, Dokanisuva, Colo-I-Suva, Tovata, Nasinu, Flagstaff Reservoirs

The Water Authority of Fiji would like to advise its customers that the level at the following reservoirs are approaching critical operating levels which may cause low pressure to intermittent supply.

In preparation for this, customers in the areas listed below are kindly advised to store in their homes, while it is still available, sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least 2 to 3 days and are requested to use water wisely during this time.

Affected areas are:

📍Tacirua Reservoir
– Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji Street, Tacirua Bus, Amputch Street, Princess Road

📍Dokanisuva Reservoir
– Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement

📍Colo-I-Suva Reservoir
– Naisogo, Colo-I-Suva Crest Chicken, Princess Road, Marshall Road, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey

📍Tovata Reservoir
– Upper Makoi, Kaliveitau, no inflow to Nagatugatu, Veitata, Tovata Road, Qaranivalu, Lomalagi, Vula, Poorva, Sabera, Peela, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham (Valley Drive, Sulua St).

📍Nasinu Reservoir
– Kinoya, Caubati. Manohan, Center Point, Laucala Beach, Nokonoko, Koka, Kinoya road, Vasant Lal, Fletcher, Mukta Ben, Vesivesi Road, Bryce Road, PRB Raiwai, Nairai Road, Lees Road.

📍Flagstaff reservoir
– Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Muanikau Road., Laucala Bay Road, McGregor Road, Domain Road, Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese, Amy Street, Johnson Street, Spring Street, High Street, Stewart Street, Brown Street

Water carting trucks are on standby and can be requested in case of an emergency by calling 5777 (all mobile networks).

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
