The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the elevated parts of Lautoka that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply from 9:00pm to 5:00am daily from Friday (08/11) to Monday (11/11).Affected Areas Include:
- Tomuka area
- Naikabula area
- Buabua Road
- Vatamai Road
- Vatamai Village
- Tavakubu Back Road
- Munshi Khan Road
- Drasa Dam Road
- Johnson Road
- Tropic Road
The interruption in supply is a result of planned operations on the DN300 outlet trunk mains from the Buabua Water Treatment Plant clear water storage, to re-fill the newly constructed 2ML (Megalitre) Reservoir at Buabua during the off-peak hours for a period of three (3) days.
This will allow WAF to re-fill the new reservoir to its maximum levels to carry out hydrostatic testing of the reservoir, as part of the construction and commissioning requirements before the reservoir is put into service.
Water supply to affected customers is expected to be restored by morning peak hours during the duration of planned operations from Friday (08/11) to Monday (011/11).
The planned operations are expected to complete by 5:00am Monday (11/11) morning and water supply to affected customers is expected to be normalized by 8:00am.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks will be on standby to service the areas as and when the need arises.
