Public Advisory – Planned Water Disruption Notice

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) would like to advise our customers that due to a substantial increase in silt levels at our Waimanu Pump station, because of the recent heavy rain, it is unsafe to run all water pumps. To fix this issue, we will be carrying out essential desilting works on Saturday (1/5/21).

As a result, our customers living in the areas listed below, will experience no water supply from Saturday morning until further notice.

Customers in the areas listed below should also expect some level of service disruption from tomorrow (30/4/21) as reservoir levels at our Tamavua Water Treatment Plant continues to drop due to the reduced inflow and water production levels.

We kindly ask our customers in affected areas to prepare accordingly and store enough water for 2 to 3 days worth of use.

Lami Elevated Areas
Upper Delanivesi including:
Baka Rd, Palm Drive (Lami), Lester St, Sote Rd 1& 2, Yadrana Settlement Rd 1 & 2, Nakauvadra Rd, Yasi Rd, Kaunitoni Rd, Qaranivalu Rd (Lami), Bulou Rd, Rogovoka Rd, Naicobocobo Rd.
Upper Areas of Lami Village Road including:
Rokodrawe Rd, Nakurukuru Village Access Rd.
Upper Areas of Valenicina Rd:
Qauia St, and Upper Areas of Naimawi St, Waivote and Nakula St, Kalekana Settlement Rd, Panaromic Rd, Muaivuso Rd, Muaivuso Village, Waiqanake Village, Osonabukete.
Areas Along Rewa Street:
Upper Nailuva Rd, Albert Lee Pl, Nararo Rd, Raisara St, Matanitobua St, Ritova St, Kini St.
Areas in Namadi Heights:
Pathik Cresent, Mika Dreu Place. Upper Ragg Avenue including Amputch & Vuniivi St, Petrie Rd, Lomaloma St.
Elevated Areas Along Princess Road and Samabula:
Upper Bureta Street, Maharaji St, Kundan Singh Shopping Complex. Fulaga St, Moala St, Upper Lakeba Street, Ro Kubolevu Rd, Navurevure Rd, Rokotarotaro Rd, Muaicolo Rd, Nasagavoki Rd Rokotuicolo Rd, Vunilekutu Rd, Delaidraudrau Rd, Ro Kalokalosere Rd, Tamavua Village, Deovji St.

Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during this temporary disruption period.

What is the process and fee for a new water connection?

How much is the Lodgment fee?

  • House under construction / Vacant land / Commercial or Industrial
    • $101.00.
  • Completely built house. – [Please provide a letter from the lands department and/ or completion certificate ]
    • $21.95. [Please provide a letter from the lands department. completion certificate or Stamped Statutory declaration on the completion of the house]

Processing Time

  • Inspection to Approval – 15 Working days from the inspection date.
  • Installation – 30 Working days from payment of New Connection cost, on a first-come, first-serve basis. [Stakeholder processing may cause delays]. *Note: Approval of installation is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

How much does the new connection cost?

  • Type A – $285 [“T” from existing connection] Type B $345 [direct connection from WAF main line]
  • New connection costs for Commercial and Industrial customers will be estimated according to requirements and a cost will be provided.
  • Road Crossing/ Service Enlargement is payable if required for additional meters requested. This will be communicated when the approval of internal and external stakeholders are obtained. WAF on behalf of FRA will refund any unused monies to the customer where applicable.
