The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in parts of the Sigatoka area that they will be experiencing low water pressure to no water from 8 am Friday (09/10) to 6 am Sunday (11/10).
Affected Areas Include:
- Nawamagi and Narata Villages
- Korokoro and Nasau
- Part of Sigatoka Town
- Nayawa and Laselase Villages
- Nasama Village
The interruption in supply is to allow WAF ground teams to carry out cleaning works at the Sedimentation Tank No.2 of the Matovo Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
During the cleaning works, the raw water inflow into the Matovo WTP shall be reduced during the temporary disruption period.
The water supply shall be progressively normalized by 6 am Sunday, 11 October 2020.
The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.
WAF urges customers to conserve and store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least two to three days in their homes at all times.
WAF also encourages customers to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and we seek your understanding and patience until such time supplies normalize.
