Earlier this week, the Water Authority of Fiji (#WAF) hosted the Director for Environment, Ms Sandeep Kaur Singh and her team at WAF’s wastewater treatment facilities in Kinoya, Pacific Harbour, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka. and Ba.
The WAF team briefed the Director on the treatment process and current capacity of each of its wastewater facility. The aim of the visit was to discuss WAF’s wastewater management strategy and to ensure the Ministry of Environment’s requirements remain central in developing resilient wastewater treatment needs into the future.
Water Authority of Fiji CEO, Dr Amit Chanan, and COO, Mr Seru Soderberg, hosted the team from the Environment Department.
Dr Chanan thanked the Director of Environment and her team for their support in working with WAF to improve wastewater treatment outcomes.
The two teams discussed opportunities for enhancing treatment capacity and integrating circular economy principles into future upgrades of wastewater treatment facilities across Fiji.
