Complaints by customers in Kiuva, Rewa about the frequently burst water main and low water pressure will soon end, when Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) workers complete the final phase of the Kiuva main replacement works.
More than 900 people will soon receive water supply round-the-clock in their homes as the main replacement work will improve the capacity and sustainability of current infrastructure and enhance the supply of clean and safe water.
Replacement work has been divided into two phases, replacing the existing DN50 and DN80 PVC pipes with the larger DN 100m PVC pipes. This will increase the volume of the water supply to the area as well as mitigate against burst mains resulting from the old infrastructure.
The reticulation system is also being relocated for ease of access for future maintenance works
Work on the $642,600.00 project began on 26th February 2018, with the objective of having the work finished by 4th May 2018.
WAF continues to champion the provision of a sustainable supply of quality water to the people of Fiji.
